Russ is a bankruptcy and restructuring attorney at Woods Rogers PLC, where he helps debtors, creditors, and lenders across a range of industries navigate in and out of court restructurings and related commercial litigation. He is currently admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and New York.

Prior to joining Woods Rogers, Russ was an associate in the restructuring group of an international law firm and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Rosemary Gambardella of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. He earned his law degree at Washington and Lee University School of Law, where was a member of the Washington and Lee Law Review.

Before his legal career, he advised U.S. Senator Tim Kaine on domestic policy issues, served as an aide to Delegate Jeion Ward of the Virginia House of Delegates, and worked on political campaigns.

Russ is community-oriented and maintains an active pro bono practice focused on criminal record relief and asylum seekers. In addition to serving on the board of Amara Legal Center, he is an active volunteer in his children’s elementary and preschools.
