Caroline Ackerman is the Executive Director at the Amara Legal Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science at Georgetown University where she studied international human rights and gender-based violence. Ms. Ackerman holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law where she volunteered for the Fordham University Domestic Violence Action Center and advocated on behalf of survivors of domestic violence in Family Court. Prior to joining Amara, Ms. Ackerman litigated child neglect and abuse cases for the New York City Administration for Children’s Services. Ms. Ackerman has served as an Amara staff attorney since 2019 and is now thrilled to serve as the Executive Director.
